Upcoming Watershed Activities

  • Kanoe the Kazoo 2008 - April to October - Check out the brochure for details.

    Kanoe the Kazoo continues in 2008! W will begin with a series of canoe trips beginning in May and continuing throughout the summer.  On Sat., May, 31st  2008 the public is invited to canoe/kayak the Kalamazoo River from 126th Ave and 46th St intersection. We will be meeting to register at the 126th Ave site at 8:30. The participants will leave their crafts at the beginning site and will then drive to the New Richmond Park at  3160 Old Allegan Road, Fennville MI 49408. Here they
    will receive a shuttle ride back to the 126th Ave site. Launch time will be at 9:00. The trip is about 3.5 hours so take out will be around 12:30 at the New Richmond Park in Fennville.  The City of Fennville has many exciting stops! Including over 12 specialized eatery's from Organic dishes at Journeyman's Artesian Foods to true authentic Mexican dishes at the Su Casa Restaurant!  Plus there are over 7 art galleries to visit! Please stop in and support your local business owners.

    The Kingman Museum has agreed to handle advanced registrations for all Kanoe the Kazoo events in 2008.  Registration for the May 31st paddle is $5 per boat (not including canoe/kayak rental) and can be made on line by visiting the Kingman Museum web site: http://www.kingmanmuseum.org/kanoe.htm.  Reservations can also be made by calling Sarah Ann Briggs at the Kingman Museum at (269) 965-5117. Registration for this trip will also be taken on site the day of the event.  Participants in need of canoe or kayak rental are instructed to
    call Old Allegan Canoe Livery at (269) 561-5481 or Running Rivers Kayak Rental at (269) 673-3698.  Information regarding all of this year's Kanoe the Kazoo trips can be found at the museum website! The New Richmond Park paddle is being hosted by the Allegan County Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department and the Allegan Conservation District.  If you would like further information about this trip, please
