West Fork Stretch 9 Description:
- Creek flows underground under Kilgore Road and emerges
between Big Lots parking lot and Candlewyk Apartments
- Significant stormwater and litter inputs from parking
lot
- Creek hardened by sea wall at beginning of stretch
- Flows along north side of Pratt Road in front yards
of residences, where there is no riparian zone, little
sinuousity
- Dry channel on south side of Pratt Road collects stormwater
from Candlewyk Apartments, significant litter deposits
- Channel and creek converge south of Pratt Road and flow
into Candlewyk Apartment where there is little riparian
edge consisting of grass and invasive vegetation (mint,
plantain, etc)
- Creek is very impacted in this stretch and retains little
natural character
