West Fork Stretch 3 Description:

  • Creek travels north and spreads into Lake Hill ‘N Brook (Howard Lake) then through a dam at the east end of lake and flows into Lime Kiln Lake
  • Emergent vegetation in lakes
  • Low-flow wetland area between US-131 and west side of Lake Hill ‘N Brook
  • Wide, well-preserved riparian zone and wetland areas around most of Lake Hill ‘N Brook, but some areas of development and manicured lawn to lake's edge on south side of lake
  • Steep banks around north and west sides of Lake Hill ‘N Brook don't appear highly eroded with exception of walking trails
  • Some development around Lime Kiln Lake with a large waterfowl population frequenting closely mown lawn areas
  • Cherry Creek and Willow Lake converge with Creek at Lime Kiln Lake
  • Wide riparian zone around Cherry Creek and minimal riparian vegetation around Willow Lake with exception of east and southeast portions
  • Stormwater inputs into both Cherry Creek and Willow Lake, with additional inputs downstream of Willow Lake
  • Hiking trails and interpretive placards around Parkview Hills lakes
