Natural Features of the P/A Watershed

--Plant Data:

Field personnel from KIESER & ASSOCIATES have conducted field surveys of selected riparian areas along the Portage, Arcadia and Axtell Creeks in the Fall of 2001. Data collected at each site includes:

  • Dominant vegetation
  • Riparian Width
  • Location and Size of Storm Water Outfalls
  • Bank Condition, Erosion Determination
  • Presence of Litter, General Appearance of Site

Spring 2002 Field Work

In the Spring of 2002, the plant surveys were altered to include green spaces within the watersheds (not just riparian areas). The Natural Features Inventory aims to identify green spaces which should be targeted for preservation. Those areas that are not preserved (or where the preservation status was unknown) were surveyed. Click here to access the data from those surveys. Click here to view a map of the identified green spaces in the watersheds. These areas were identified by Kieser & Associates' field work and by public surveys conducted by the Convene the Community project. Do you know about additional areas that should be added?
