Stormwater Conveyance System Mapping

In many areas, stormwater produced from precipitation events is carried through an elaborate system of open surface ditches and underground pipes. Where and how this stormwater is carried is very important to the local environment and receiving waters. Sophisticated databases built on computer-aided drafting (CAD) and geographic information systems help cities manage and maintain their conveyance systems.

Example of stormwater conveyance system mapping showing sewer system in residential neighborhoods and connections to receiving waters.
