Goldsworth Valley Pond

In June of 2003, the water level of Western Michigan Univerisity's Goldworth Valley Pond was lowered so that native vegetation could be planted in the riparian areas. These plants will provide wildlife habitat and protect the pond banks from erosion. Highly erosive banks were reshaped to provide a gradual transition from the pond to the upland areas. Plants and banks were protected with a fiber blanket.
