Arcadia Creek Stretch 7 Description:

  • Creek passes under Stadium Drive (source of debris and stormwater loading) near large billboard (currently advertising WMU's Miller Auditorium) at bend in Drive
  • Creek enters Second Reformed Church property at "Inspiration Walk": trails and benches along naturalized wetland area
  • Shrub wetland along creek
  • East end of stretch contains cattail area north of creek
  • Racoon paw prints observed in sand at west end of stretch
  • Shaded water
  • Abundance of bird and frog calls noted
  • Sinuous water course
  • Good flood storage area
  • Good public access trail and interpretation/education model for stormwater management and habitat preservation
