Arcadia Creek Stretch 3 Description:

  • Pipe conveys water from east end of pond underground, under dirt drive
  • Eroded banks where pipe emerges and sends water along south side of rail road tracks
  • Straight channel along tracks
  • Little or no shading
  • No room for sinuosity between banks and tracks
  • Steep banks on each side: north side composed of rocks and bare sand supporting tracks, south side composed of fill supporting Meadow View Village Mobile Home Park (accessible from Stadium Drive)
  • South banks very steep (approximately 25 feet high at 80 degree angle) with shrub and vine vegetation and utility line easement
  • Extreme amount of litter and debris, dumpster leakage enters creek near west end of stretch, many items observed in banks and in creek
  • Major source of erosion
  • Goldfish observed at west end of stretch
  • Sand substrate
